The Western States Trail, from Carson City, Nevada to Sacramento, California remains one of only a few remaining trail routes from the eastern side of the Sierra through the foothills to the west that is largely untouched by development. Some parts are still much like what the early-day users would have known.
Our primary goal is to establish a museum that provides educational and historical exhibits and literary archives about the Western State Trail’s once-populated towns, mining camps, and trail-side locations of historic importance.
